FUTURAMA: ALIEN VS. PLANET EXPRESS By Stingray
September 20, 2009
FADE IN
SPACE
An endless void of stars and nebulae.
EXT. PLANETOID MOON (ACHERON LV-426) - NIGHT
Thick layers of lava rock form a twisted and nightmarish landscape.
A gargantuan construction fades into view, clearly alien in appearence.
An all-terrain BUGGY rolls by, heading towards the structure.
INT. BUGGY
Two WEYLAND-YUTANI CORP. WORKERS and three COLONIAL MARINES are seated inside, watching the alien structure ahead.
WORKER #1 (MIKE):
What the hell is that?
WORKER #2 (DAUGHTRY):
I haven't the slightest idea.
Lets go find out.
EXT. ACHERON'S SURFACE
The buggy HAULTS at a large CRACK in the structure. The group exits the buggy wearing spacesuits and enters the structure.
INT. ALIEN STRUCTURE - ENTRANCE
The group waves flashlights ahead of them as they enter a dark, cavernous room.
DAUGHTRY:
What is this place?
MIKE:
I'm not the right person to aks.
Daughtry's flashlight reveals another opening.
DAUGHTRY:
Hey Mike. Check it out.
Mike attaches a tether to his suit and gives it to Daughtry. He enters the narrow opening.
MIKE:
(O.C.)
Nothing's showing up on my flashlight.
Its just... Its dark everywhere.
I think this opening is...
Mike falls silent.
DAUGHTRY:
Mike, you alright?
MIKE:
(O.C.)
Yeah, I'm good. I found something.
DAUGHTRY:
What?
MIKE:
(O.C.)
Oh my god... There's thousands...
DAUGHTRY:
Thousands of what?
INT. DARK ROOM
Mike SHINES his light at thousands of LEATHARY, EGG-SHAPED OBJECTS.
MIKE:
There's like an endless field in
here. Thousands of... seeds or eggs.
DAUGHTRY:
(O.C.)
You lucky S.O.B.
One of the objects PEEL OPEN.
INT. ENTRANCE
DAUGHTRY:
(Cont.)
Just remember, when we tell the
company about your little find here,
just tell them we both went in, okay?
Share the credit a little.
No response.
DAUGHTRY:
(Cont.)
Mike, sound good?
Still nothing.
DAUGHTRY:
(Cont.)
Hey man, you alright in there?
Mike's tether DROPS.
Daughtry PULLS the tether, DRAGGING Mike out of the opening.
Mike's helmet is MELTED. A SPIDERY CREATURE is latched onto his face inside.
Daughtry is stunned at the horrifying sight.
EXT. ACHERON'S SURFACE
Daughtry RUNS to the buggy, carrying Mike.
INT. BUGGY
Daughtry reclines the passenger seat and lays mike on it. He then switches on a monitor.
DAUGHTRY:
This is Acheron ground exploration team
to the Weyland-Yutani science vessel
USS Nightingale... Nightingale, please
respond... over.
The face of ZAPP BRANNIGAN appears on the monitor.
ZAPP:
I'm sorry, Acheron ground exploration
team, but the vessel you requested
doesn't appear to be in this system...
over.
DAUGHTRY:
Who the hell are you? ... eh... over.
ZAPP:
Captain Zapp Brannigan of the DOOP
starship USS Nimbus, over.
DAUGHTRY:
Sir, this is an emergency! I've got
a high contamination risk down here!
Where is the Nightingale?!
ZAPP:
I'm sorry, but there is no record of
a ship by that name ever entering this
quadrant.
DAUGHTRY:
That's impossible.
ZAPP:
Maybe your just imagining...
DAUGHTRY:
Nevermind! I just need a science/medical
officer down here and a security patch
through the Weyland-Yutani company
interface.
ZAPP:
Verry well, I will arrive in
cryostasis within two or three
hours. I'd arrive in my own ship,
but it sustained damage recently.
KIF KROKER appears next to Zapp on the monitor, rolling his eyes.
DAUGHTRY:
Two to three hours?!
ZAPP:
That's the best I could do.
DAUGHTRY:
Fine. This is Acheron ground
exploration team awaiting arrival.
Out.
The image of Zapp changes to static, then blanks out.
FADE TO:
SPACE - ONE HOUR LATER (MORNING)
The USS PLANET EXPRESS SHIP FADES into view. The MAIN TITLE is revealed as the ship passes by:
"FUTURAMA: ALIEN VS. PLANET EXPRESS"
Title FADES OUT.
The ship, although traveling several times the speed of light, appears to slowly DRIFT through the endless void of space.
It suddenly CRASHES through the solar panel of a satellite.
Debris SCATTERS silently and endlessly.
INT. SHIP - CORRIDOR A.
Dark, empty. Not a soul in sight.
INT. CORRIDOR B., ADJACENT TO CORRIDORS A. AND C.
Dimly-lit. PRESSURE DOORS sealed TIGHT.
INT. LIVING QUARTERS
Lights dimmed, some FLICKER. ROBOT PORNOGRAPHY COVERS the ceiling. A TELEVISION is on, volume on mute.
INT. ENGINE ROOM
Two giant AFTERBURNERS are across the room, SCORCHING gallons of Whale Oil. A large control panel is lit up, like an Xmas tree.
INT. BRIDGE
Dark, desolate. Pressure door sealed. Various lights on control panels and dashboards FLICKER on and off. The controls SHIFT left-to-right, with a viewscreen nearby reading "AUTOPILOT".
INT. GALLEY
Pitch-black, silent. Until...
LIGHTS FLICKER to life, revealing a round table and a REFRIGERATOR built into the wall.
What appears to be a HUMAN FIGURE approaches from the nearby entrance. The figure is identified as CAPTAIN TURANGA LEELA.
She enters the galley, walking towards the refrigerator. She HAULTS by the sound of a COMPUTER SCREEN HUMMING to life.
TEXT is revealed on the screen:
"GOOD MORNING, CAPTAIN LEELA."
A KEYBOARD projects from below the screen.
The screen blanks, then reveals more text:
"HOW WAS YOUR NIGHT?"
She types a response with the keyboard:
"ITS TOO EARLY. SPARE ME THE CHIT-CHAT."
The screen blanks again, then reveals a final message:
"AFIRMATIVE. SORRY."
The screen shuts down.
INT. BRIDGE
LIGHTS FLICKER to life. The pressure door HISSES as it SLIDES OPEN.
Leela enters and sits in the PILOT SEAT.
As the door is about to close, PHILIP J. FRY enters.
FRY:
Morning, Leela.
LEELA:
Good morning, Fry.
Fry sits at the NAVIGATOR SEAT.
FRY:
So we there yet?
LEELA:
Hang on a sec.
She types on a keyboard, staring at a veiwscreen.
LEELA:
Something's wrong here.
FRY:
What?
The door slides open again. BENDER enters.
BENDER:
Morning, meatbags!
FRY:
Hey, Bender.
BENDER:
Anyone hungry? I just came
back from the galley. I got
a special breakfast surprise.
FRY:
Um... no thanks. I'm full...
eh... from... the dinner I had
last night. Yeah. Big dinner.
Sorry, buddy.
BENDER:
What about you, Leela?
LEELA:
I'm a little busy here. I
can't find any traffic-control
beacons.
FRY:
Your not saying we're lost, are you?
LEELA:
No, I'm saying I can't find the
beacons.
BENDER:
So, in other words, we're lost.
LEELA:
No, Bender. Although, I don't really
recognise any of these systems.
FRY / BENDER:
We're lost.
LEELA:
Okay, fine! We're lost! I don't have
a clue where we are.
BENDER:
Who programmed the autopilot?
LEELA:
Hermes did. Back home.
FRY:
Speaking of Hermes, I just got a
video signal from him.
LEELA:
Lets see it.
Fry flips a switch on the dashboard.
A viewscreen CRACKLES to life and HERMES' face FADES IN.
HERMES:
(Jamaican accent)
Good morning everyone. How is da trip
so far?
FRY:
We're lost.
LEELA:
Hermes, where did you send us?
I don't know a single system out here.
HERMES:
Its da Zeta Two, Reticuli System.
de autopilot is taking you to a
planetoid moon called Acheron
LV-426. It o'bits a gas giant
called Livinum.
FRY:
Hehehe... gas giant.
HERMES:
(Cont.)
You are delivering highly classified
DOOP cargo to 'dis moon. You are
not authorized to view its contents
under any circumstances, unde'stand?
LEELA:
I feel that I should at least know
if its a threat to the ship and crew.
HERMES:
I don't give a flying-fish how
you feel about 'dis! I promised
da DOOP and da Colonial Marine
Corps. 'dat da cargo will not
be revealed to anyone, especially
da carriers! Good day.
Hermes' face FADES to static.
BENDER:
I got a bad feeling about this
mission. Whatever, I need a drink.
Bender opens his compartment and pulls out a cold beer.
EXT. LIVINUM - ONE HOUR AND TWENTY-THREE MINUTES LATER
A gigantic Jupiter-like planet ENGULFS view of the empty blackness of space.
Acheron LV-426 slowly orbits into view.
EXT. ACHERON LV-426 - SPACE
A crescent shadow GROWS larger over the planetoid's surface.
Random bolts of lightning FLASH within its cloudy atmosphere.
The Planet Express Ship GLIDES by.
INT. PLANET EXPRESS SHIP - BRIDGE
Everyone is secured to their seats.
LEELA:
There it is, LV-426.
FRY:
Hm, not much to look at.
BENDER:
Neither are you.
LEELA:
Okay, terrain mapping on line.
How are the afterburners?
BENDER:
On line.
LEELA:
Transatmoshperic turbine control?
FRY:
Making a beeping sound.
LEELA:
Hull integrity?
BENDER:
Higher than Fry's IQ.
LEELA:
Life-support's good...
Weapons functional...
Okay, we're ready to go.
FRY:
Yay!
LEELA:
I'm gonna do a three-second-burst
with the engines. that should
give us the required amount of
force.
EXT. SHIP - SPACE
The engines BLAST to life. After three seconds, they die down.
INT. BRIDGE
Bender continues drinking.
Leela reads the data on a viewscreen.
LEELA:
Reaching atmospheric barrier in ten...
nine... eight... seven...
EXT. SHIP
The ship BURSTS into flame as it enters the atmosphere.
INT. BRIDGE
The interior shakes VIOLENTLY.
FRY:
One. .
LEELA:
Lots of turbulence, guys. Hang on.
BENDER:
Yeah, no kidding! Uh... oh crap!
FIZZY ALCOHOL BURSTS from Bender's metal body.
EXT. SHIP
The fire DISSOLVES as the ship cools down.
INT. BRIDGE
Leela SHIFTS the controls.
LEELA:
It's over, I got control now.
BENDER:
About time!
LEELA:
Landing legs extended.
EXT. SHIP
The ship SCREAMS by with its landing legs extended, decreases in speed, then lands on the unstable, rocky surface.
INT. BRIDGE
Leela lets go of the controls.
LEELA:
Touchdown. Another happy landing.
BENDER:
Sure, whatever you say.
EXT. ACHERON'S SURFACE
The gas giant Livinum PEEKS over the twisted and nightmarish landscape.
A light MIST covers the alien structure nearby.
EXT. SHIP - LANDING ZONE
Leela, Fry, and Bender emerge from the access stairway on the frontal landing strut of the ship.
FRY:
Man, its hard to breathe here.
LEELA:
Just take slow breaths.
Bender spots a BUGGY accross from the landing zone.
BENDER:
Whats that over there?
FRY:
Looks like a rover.
LEELA:
A Weyland-Yutani Model Fifty-Six
all-terrain buggy. That must be
them.
FRY:
Must be who?
LEELA:
The clients, of course.
FRY:
Oh yeah, right.
Leela leads Fry and Bender to the buggy.
INT. BUGGY
Leela opens the access hatch, then GASPS.
LEELA:
Oh... my... God!
BENDER:
Oh... your... God!
BODIES of COLONIAL MARINES and the body of a Weyland-Yutani WORKER (Mike) lay dead, their chests RIPPED OPEN.
FRY:
Leela, what happened here?
LEELA:
I don't know!
EXT. BUGGY
Daughtry CREEPS towards the newcomers, a PULSE RIFLE in hand.
DAUGHTRY:
Turn around slowly!
Leela, Fry, and Bender slowly turn around.
DAUGHTRY:
Who are you?
LEELA:
My name is Turanga Leela. I'm
captain of the USS Planet Express Ship.
FRY:
You can take all my money! Just
don't hurt us!
LEELA:
Fry, hes a Weyland-Yutani worker.
BENDER:
With a pulse rifle!
DAUGHTRY:
Planet Express? You aren't by
any chance the delivery crew,
are you?
LEELA:
Yes. We brought the cargo.
Daughtry lowers his gun.
DAUGHTRY:
Yeah, well, your a little too late.
You saw 'em.
LEELA:
What happened here...
Leela reads Daughtry's name tag.
LEELA:
(Cont.)
... Mister Daughtry?
Daughtry frantically looks around.
DAUGHTRY:
We have to go now! Hurry!
CUT TO:
EXT. LANDING ZONE
The ship takes off.
EXT. SPACE
The ship DRIFTS by, Livinum and LV-426 in the far distance.
INT. SHIP - GALLEY
Everyone sits at the circular table.
DAUGHTRY:
We were sent down to LV-426
so we can survey it, find anything
worth collecting, then report
back to the company. If its
good, They set up an atmosphere
processor, start terraforming,
then set up a colony complex,
something like what you'd see
on the Earth's moon. Of course,
things didn't go as planned.
BENDER:
Did you find anything?
DAUGHTRY:
We sure did. We found an alien
spacecraft. It probably crash landed.
I swear, you take one look at it,
you know it has a sinister side.
FRY:
Did you go inside?
DAUGHTRY:
Me and Mike did. He said he
found a giant room with eggs
inside. Just then, this...
parasite... thing attached to
his face. It looked like it
melted through his helmet.
LEELA:
It melted through?
DAUGHTRY:
Yep. And it was keeping him alive.
I tried prying it off, but it just
wouldn't move. It was pumping
oxygen into his lungs too.
LEELA:
I've never heard of such an organism.
DAUGHTRY:
So I called for our mothership,
the USS Nightingale, but all
I got was a feed from some...
very odd space captain from
a different ship. He said that
the Nightingale never entered
this system.
FRY:
Whoa.
DAUGHTRY:
So I asked him if he could come
down with a medical officer.
He said he'd arrive in two or three
hours by a different ship, in
cryostasis. I believe this is the
ship. Am I right?
LEELA:
But we're the only ones on board.
And we don't have a cryo-chamber.
DAUGHTRY:
Did you check your cargo?
INT. CARGO BAY
The pressure door SLIDES open.
LEELA:
This is the cargo bay.
Fry and Bender enter, followed by Leela and Daughtry.
LEELA:
Mister Daughtry, you didn't finish
what you were saying. What about
their chests being blown open?
DAUGHTRY:
I'm not exactly ready to get
to that part yet.
Fry and Bender find two CRYO-TUBES.
FRY:
Hey, I found some cryo-tubes!
BENDER:
And look whose inside.
Leela and Daughtry walk up to the tubes.
Leela is SHOCKED at whose inside.
LEELA:
No... no! It can't be!
DAUGHTRY:
Yep, that's the guy.
Its Zapp Brannigan.
Kif Kroker is in the other tube.
FRY:
Isn't that the guy you slept with?
LEELA:
Shut up, Fry!
DAUGHTRY:
You know this guy?
LEELA:
Unfortunately, yes I do.
BENDER:
Hehe... the universe is so
cruel, yet so entertaining.
DAUGHTRY:
When I was talking to him on
the video com., he didn't seem
to have all of his planets in
orbit, if you know what I mean.
LEELA:
You have no idea.
Bender presses buttons reading "DEFROST" on the cryo-tubes.
The transparent coverings LIFT OPEN.
Zapp and Kif awaken.
LEELA:
You had to do it, didn't you?
Bender shrugs.
Zapp notices Leela and smiles.
ZAPP:
Leela! I knew the universe would
bring us back together again!
LEELA:
Ugh! .
Daughtry WAVES his hand over Zapp's face.
DAUGHTRY:
Yo! Remember me? Your late!
ZAPP:
For what?
DAUGHTRY:
The medical officer and the
company security patch, you
moron!
ZAPP:
Relax. Everything's under control.
DAUGHTRY:
My friend and three Colonial
Marines are dead because of you!
LEELA:
Actually its our fault for being late.
We were busy trying to figure out
where this place is in the galaxy.
ZAPP:
Thank you, my sweet.
LEELA:
Please, please shut up, Zapp!
DAUGHTRY:
And where is the medical officer?
ZAPP:
Oh... I knew I was forgetting
something.
KIF:
I reminded you four times back at
the DOOP SFB, sir.
ZAPP:
I think I'd remember you saying
something of such importance, Kif.
KIF:
(Rolls eyes)
Sorry, sir.
ZAPP:
I'm hungry. Whats to eat?
BENDER:
Glad you asked. Follow me.
FRY:
Oh no. .
EXT. SPACE
A large, metallic OBJECT slowly emerges from the vast darkness. It takes the shape of a Weyland-Yutani company starship.
EXT. SHIP - HULL
Old and rustic in appearance. BOLD LETTERING reading "USS NIGHTINGALE" is printed on the side, aft of an observation blister.
INT. NIGHTINGALE - BRIDGE
CAPTAIN RAY ANDERSON enters with SECOND-IN-COMMAND ALEX SANTIAGO.
ANDERSON:
This better be good.
Santiago leads Anderson to a large monitor.
Images of the Acheron ground exploration team's buggy, the alien spacecraft, and the Planet Express ship appear in slideshow format.
ANDERSON:
What am I looking at here?
SANTIAGO:
This is the problem, sir.
Remember the team you sent
down to the planetoid LV-426?
ANDERSON:
Yes.
SANTIAGO:
There was a survivor.
ANDERSON:
Who?
SANTIAGO:
Weyland-Yutani chief salvage
technician Silas Daughtry.
ANDERSON:
Where is he now?
SANTIAGO:
He left with a delivery crew
called Planet Express.
ANDERSON:
Santiago, this is unacceptable!
Do you have any idea what will
happen if he exposes information
about this species?!
SANTIAGO:
I understand, sir.
ANDERSON:
Find that ship, and find out about
its crew as well.
SANTIAGO:
Already done, sir.
The slideshow changes to the Planet Express crew's personnel files.
SANTIAGO:
The ship's captain is Turanga Leela.
She also serves as the ship's pilot.
Also, there is a man named Philip J. Fry,
and a bending robot, Bender Bending
Rodriguez. So far, these three seem
to be the only ones on board, along
with our man Daughtry.
ANDERSON:
Where's the ship now?
SANTIAGO:
Its just leaving the Zeta Two
Reticuli system, Sector Five.
ANDERSON:
Santiago, inform the dropship crew
they have a new mission.
SANTIAGO:
Yes sir.
EXT. NIGHTINGALE
The BELLY RAMP of the ship's cargo bay LOWERS, exposing a military "Cheyenne" DROPSHIP.
The dropship BLASTS away from the Nightingale and FADES into the darkness.
EXT. SPACE - ZETA TWO RETICULI
The Planet Express ship is silhouetted by the Zeta Two Reticuli dwarf star, Ixion.
INT. SHIP - CORRIDOR A. - GALLEY ENTRANCE
The Galley's pressure door slides open.
Fry, Leela, Daughtry, Zapp, and Kif exit the room, obviously sick from Bender's meal.
DAUGHTRY:
That was the most disturbing meal
I've ever ingested.
Fry is fighting the urge to vomit.
FRY:
I'll be right back.
He runs down the corridor, towards the restrooms.
LEELA:
(Clears throat)
I'll be in the Bridge if
anyone needs me.
Zapp is about to speak.
LEELA:
(Cont.)
And by anyone, I mean anyone
but you, Zapp.
ZAPP:
Why must you hurt me like that?
LEELA:
Somebody has to.
The group separates.
INT. BRIDGE
Leela enters and sits at the pilot seat. She adjusts the SUN FILTER on the window glazing, then stares a while at the dwarf star Ixion.
She then opens a small diversion compartment under the dashboard and pulls out a TOY STARHSHIP. TEARS begin to form in her eye as she holds it in her hand.
The moment is interrupted by the HISS of the pressure door behind her. Zapp enters and approaches her.
ZAPP:
I know you said you didn't want
to see me, but I figured that...
Before he could continue, Leela STORMS out of her seat and exits the Bridge.
ZAPP:
Hm... must have been the food.
INT. GALLEY
Bender throws the dirty trays in his compartment, drinks the entire bottle of dish-washing soap, then pushes his antenna down. A RUMBLING noise, followed by the CLASHING of the metal trays, is heard from inside.
Zapp enters.
ZAPP:
Hey, need some help with the washing?
(whispers)
Please say no.
BENDER:
No, but you could put the spice weasel
back in it's cage.
The spice weasel COWARS under the table.
ZAPP:
No problem.
Suddenly, it DARTS out of the room.
BENDER:
Hey! Get back here, you spicy
flea factory!
ZAPP:
I'll go find it.
Zapp exits.
SOAPY FOAM spills from Bender's compartment.
BENDER:
Bah!! Not again!
INT. CORRIDOR A.
Zapp looks around, no spice weasel in sight.
INT. CORRIDOR B.
Zapp continues searching.
ZAPP:
Here, spice weasel...
Where you hiding?
He spots it by the ENGINE ROOM ENTRANCE.
ZAPP:
Ah, there you are. Don't move.
It runs into the engine room.
ZAPP:
Damn spiceball.
INT. ENGINE ROOM
Zapp enters.
ZAPP:
Here, spicy spicy spicy...
The spice weasel hides behind an afterburner.
Zapp walks towards the afterburner, holds out his hands, warming them with the expelled heat.
He spots the weasel.
ZAPP:
There you are.
It backs away, a frightened look in its eyes.
ZAPP:
What's wrong with you? Your own
spice too much to handle?
A long TAIL DROPS from the ceiling and wraps around his neck.
ZAPP:
AHHH!!!! KIF!!! SOMEONE HELP ME!!
The body of the FACEHUGGER SMOTHERS him, causing him to drop to the floor. He becomes limp, nearly lifeless.
The spice weasel watches in horror.
INT. CORRIDOR B.
Kif passes by, then enters engine room.
INT. ENGINE ROOM
Kif looks around.
KIF:
Sir? I though I heard you calling me.
Are you in here?
He spots Zapp laying on the floor, the 'parasite' attached to his face.
KIF:
Oh my God! Sir, you okay?
No physical response.
CUT TO:
INT. INFIRMARY
Zapp lays in a hospital bed, still unconscious from the facehugger.
INT. OBSERVATION ROOM - INFIRMARY
Everyone stares at Zapp through the filtered window.
KIF:
I found him in the engine room.
BENDER:
Did he find the spice weasel?
KIF:
Uh... yeah, I guess.
LEELA:
That thing probably stowed away on
the ship when we landed.
DAUGHTRY:
We have to get it off of him now.
LEELA:
Oh, I'm sure he'll be fine.
DAUGHTRY:
Look, I don't care about the
past things that happened between
you two, but we need to get it
off now.
FRY:
I thought you said it couldn't
come off once its on someone.
DAUGHTRY:
We can only try.
BENDER:
I'll do it. I am a bending
robot, after all.
DAUGHTRY:
I'll assist.
INT. INFIRMARY
Daughtry and Bender enter.
DAUGHTRY:
Bender, be careful.
BENDER:
Yeah, yeah. Whatever.
DAUGHTRY:
I mean it.
Bender grabs the tail of the facehugger, PULLING it HARD.
DAUGHTRY:
Bender, stop... DONT!!
The tail CRACKS, spilling yellow ACID on Bender's foot.
BENDER:
Holy crap!
The acid eats through his foot, as well as the floor and the deck below.
Daughtry and Bender RUSH out of the room.
INT. OBSERVATION ROOM
Everyone reacts.
LEELA:
That stuff is gonna eat through
the hull!
KIF:
Hurry!
Everyone follows Daughtry and Bender.
INT. GALLEY
The group enters, searching for the leak.
Fry spots the acid eating through the table.
FRY:
There! Its eating through the table!
LEELA:
Next deck!
They exit.
INT. CARGO BAY
The group enters.
Daughtry spots the leak on the ceiling.
DAUGHTRY:
There!
LEELA:
This is the last deck. Get
something underneath it! quick!
Bender limps next to Daughtry.
BENDER:
Don't look at me, skin tubes!
Daughtry grabs a spare AIRLOCK DOOR. With the help of Fry and Leela, they put it under the leak.
KIF:
Guys look.
The leak stops.
BENDER:
Hey, it stopped.
They put the door down and look at the melted hole.
LEELA:
The only liquid I've ever seen
do that is a highly corrosive...
concentrated acid.
DAUGHTRY:
It uses this stuff for blood,
I guess.
FRY:
Well, now we know we can't kill it.
The group stares at the hole for a moment, then exit.
EXT. SPACE - ONE HOUR LATER
The Planet Express ship passes silently through the vast emptiness of space.
INT. SHIP - BRIDGE
Leela observes the star-studded void through the window glazing.
Daughtry enters, then watches her for a moment.
Leela notices his reflection in the window.
LEELA:
Hello, Daughtry.
DAUGHTRY:
Am I disturbing you, Captain Leela?
LEELA:
No.
She turns around, revealing a sad look on her face.
DAUGHTRY:
What's wrong, if you don't mind
me aksing?
She hesitates.
LEELA:
I guess my past haunts me more
than I want it to.
DAUGHTRY:
I know what that's like.
Daughtry looks away, possibly flashing back on a painful memory.
LEELA:
What happened with you?
Daughtry looks back at her.
DAUGHTRY:
My son died. He was only
eight-years-old.
LEELA:
I'm so sorry.
DAUGHTRY:
It was Martian War Two. Me and
my family prepared for everything...
except this.
LEELA:
Do you have a picture of him?
DAUGHTRY:
We lost everything in the conflict.
Pictures, possessions, everything.
(pause)
What about you?
LEELA:
Before I became captain of the
Planet Express Ship, I worked as
a career assignment officer at the
cryonics lab in New New York.
Before that I served in the DOOP
Defence Force.
DAUGHTRY:
Did you see action?
LEELA:
Actually I served in the same conflict.
Martian War Two. My two-month tour of
duty was cut short. I only saw a week
of action.
DAUGHTRY:
Why so short?
She hesitates.
LEELA:
I had a breakdown on the sixth day.
My commanding officer was nice
enough to send me on a shuttle home
the next day. I turned in my
service badge and sidearm.
DAUGHTRY:
What happened? what caused the...
you know.
She hesitates again.
FLASHBACK:
EXT. MARS - MARTIAN WAR TWO
The Red Planet Mars PANS into view.
A CONESTOGA-CLASS STARSHIP PASSES by.
EXT. SHIP
Rustic, battle-damaged. BOLD LETTERING is printed on the side, reading "USS SALAZAR".
INT. SALAZAR - CARGO BAY
DOOP Defence Force TROOPERS and United States Colonial Marines gear up and enter an M577 Armored Personnel Carrier.
INT. M577 APC
Troopers and Marines are seated inside, Leela mixed within the group.
The DRIVER of the APC checks the controls.
DRIVER:
Everyone ready to go?
TROOPER:
Yeah! Just go, damn it!
INT./EXT. APC - CARGO BAY

English gives Leela a look.
BOSTON:
Hesham, can we light 'em up now?
HESHEM:
No, now shut up and enjoy the trip
to hell.
STONE:
Now remember, stay alert... stay frosty.
McNAMARA:
You got it, Chief.
HESHAM:

for me or Lockheed.
LOCKHEED:
Right.
EXT. MARS - SURFACE - DAY
The dropship cools down, then lands on the surface.
The access ramp lowers, allowing the APC to drive away.
The ramp closes, and the ship takes off.
PILOT:
(O.C.)
Adios, comrades.

(O.C.)
Asta.
INT. APC
Everyone loads their weapons.
Heathrow, Douglas, Vanguard, and Fairchild UNHOOK their Smart Guns from the racks and attach them to exo-hydraulic arms on their flack-jackets.
HEATHROW:
This is why I love my job.
FAIRCHILD:
Oh yeah! Lets give 'em hell!
Hesham rolls his eyes.
HESHAM:
Alright, Light 'em up.
BOSTON:
Yes!
Boston, Laura, and English IGNITE their flamethrowers.
ENGLISH:
About time.
Stone stands up.
STONE:
Alright, guys. Remember, this is
an urban battlefield. Theres
civies behind every corner, so
check your fire.
IRONSIDE:
And stick together. Stay close
to the armored column.
Everyone nods.
EXT. MARS SURFACE
An artillary shell EXPLODES next to the APC.
INT. APC
The soldiers are THROWN around the APC.
EXT. SURFACE
Everyone SCRAMBLES out of the APC, DIVING to cover.
HESHAM:
Go! Go! Go!
IRONSIDE:
Get to cover!
Another shell is visibly airborne.
LEELA:
Incoming!
The shell hits the APC, completely DEMOLISHING it.
The explosion FRAGS and KILLS Stone.
McNAMARA:
Stone is hit!
NANKIVIL:
I'll be right there!
A bullet SLICES through Nankivil's skull, killing him.
LOCKHEED:
Nankivil! Damn it!
HESHAM:
We lost our medic!
a shell BLASTS the rocky surface near Ironside.
IRONSIDE:
We're getting nailed out here!
A Martian TANK is visible in the distance.
JINKINS:
Armor ahead!
HESHAM:
Theres the source of our problem.
LOCKHEED:
Get out the anti-armor!
Vickers and Leela pull out modified RPG LAUNCHERS and load ROCKETS in them.
IRONSIDE:
Hurry up!
Vickers emerges from cover, aiming his RPG at the distant tank.
A Martian REBEL appears by the APC wreckage, firing his RPK-74 at the group.
Vickers is hit and killed, the rocket from his RPG launcher firing straight into the air.
LEELA:
Vickers is hit!
Long shoots and kills the rebel with his sniper rifle.
LONG:
I got him! Yeah!
FAIRCHILD:
Stick to cover, you idiot!
The tank fires another round.
The shell hits the entire COLONIAL MARINE group, killing them all. Lockheed, however, is still alive, but badly wounded.
LOCKHEED:
AHHH!!!! GET OUTTA HERE!!!
Lockheed slowly dies.
JINKINS:
Lockheed! Thats it, we're leaving!
Leela emerges from cover, aiming her RPG at the tank.
LEELA:
I can hit it!
IRONSIDE:
We're leaving now!
LEELA:
Gimmie a sec! I can do it!
She hesitates, then pulls the trigger.
The rocket GLIDES towards the tank.
The tank BURSTS APART in a brilliant explosion.
LEELA:
Yeah!! I got it!
McNAMARA:
Nice shot!
Stone and Ironside emerge from cover.
IRONSIDE:
Okay, lets go! Follow me!
JINKINS:
Stay together!
Stone leads whats left of his fireteam towards a battle-damaged FACTORY.
FLASHBACK ENDS
INT. PLANET EXPRESS SHIP - BRIDGE
Leela and Daughtry sit next to each other on the couch, facing the window glazing.
DAUGHTRY:
The entire Marine faction?
LEELA:
Yep. Every one of them. My team
was still kickin', though. I lost
the RPG when we went in the factory.
Thats where the gates to hell were.
FLASHBACK:
INT. FACTORY - DAY
The DOOP Defence Force Troopers sit behind large machinery, checking their weapons.
LEELA:
(V.O.)
We camped out at that factory for
five days exactly, our emergency
rations being our only food source.
Laura walks around, patrolling with her flamethrower ready.
JINKINS:
Laura, any visitors?
LAURA:
Nope.
Leela is asleep, HUGGING her pulse rifle.
Ironside WAVES his fingers in the air, probably figuring out a math problem.
JINKINS:
(To Ironside)
So whats the verdict?
IRONSIDE:
Quit interupting me, dumbass.
Now I gotta start over.
Leela awakens.
Boston sits next to her.
BOSTON:
Hey, eagle-eye. You okay?
LEELA:
Yeah, until you came.
Boston smiles.
BOSTON:
You did pretty well out there,
with the RPG and all.
LEELA:
It's nice to know that poor
depth-perception isn't that much
of a limitation for me.
BOSTON:
Heard that.
McNamara walks up to a window and looks outside.
JINKINS:
What do you see, McNamara?
McNAMARA:
Hell.
JINKINS:
Huh. That sounds about right.
The window SHATTERS and BLOOD SPRAYS from McNamara's head.
Everyone reacts, and DIVES under the window frame.
IRONSIDE:
Sniper?
DOUGLAS:
Probably.
Long pulls out his sniper rifle.
LONG:
I'll try and find it.
He adjusts the scope, then carefully scans the nearby rooftops for the sniper.
IRONSIDE:
Get down! Look how exposed you are!
LONG:
Oh gimmie a break, sarge.
IRONSIDE:
Damn it, Long!
He spots the sniper.
LONG:
I found him! Going for the kill.
Long fires his rifle, killing the distant sniper.
LONG:
Pow!! He's dead!
LEELA:
Nice shootin'
LONG:
Much thanks.
A GRENADE lands by the group.
DOUGLAS:
GRENADE!!!!!
Everyone RUNS behind machinery, away from the upcoming blast.
The grenade EXPLODES, THROWING pieces of machinery around the room.
Leela suddenly BLACKS OUT.
LEELA'S P.O.V.:
Nothing but pitch-blackness, not even a sound is heard.
Five seconds later...
Boston SHAKES Leela back to consciousness.
She awakens, confused.
LEELA:
What the hell just happened?
BOSTON:
A grenade went off right by us.
You alright?
LEELA:
Now that you ask... I hear a
loud ringing sound.
BOSTON:
You were only like ten feet away
from the blast. Its a wonder you
can hear anything at all.
Leela looks around the scorched area.
LEELA:
Where is everyone else?
BOSTON:
We are everyone else.
LEELA:
Their all dead?
BOSTON:
Laura and the sarge are missing.
Everyone else was fragged and
crushed by the machinery.
Leela stands up and picks up her pulse rifle.
LEELA:
I guess we should go.
BOSTON:
I guess you're right.
EXT. FACTORY
Leela and Boston exit the factory, carefully looking out for the enemy. They run down the street, keeping their distance from the buildings' walls in case an RPG just happened to be fired at them.
As they move further down the street, CIVILIANS can be seen.
Boston SIGNALS Leela to get behind cover. She crouches behind a nest of sandbags, while Boston hides behind a doorframe.
BOSTON:
This could be a problem.
Martian MERCENARIES are hidden within a distant crowd of civilians. Boston and Leela don't see them, but realise their presence in the crowd anyway.
LEELA:
We can't go this way. There could be
mercenaries in that crowd.
BOSTON:
Alright, I guess we should go the
other way.
Leela hears FOOTSTEPS behind her.
LEELA:
(V.O.)
And thats the moment that I'll
never forget.
Instinctively, she WHIPS her pulse rifle around and FIRES a five-round burst in the direction of the sound. Her eye WIDENS at the sight of what she had done.
She killed a small boy, holding a toy starship.
LEELA:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
MONTAGE:
Martian Mercenaries hear Leela's cry and react, pulling out P90s and F2000s. They run towards Leela's hiding spot.
Boston fires his pulse rifle at the incoming mercs, while Leela remains PETRIFIED at the sight of the child's dead body on the street.
FLASHBACK ENDS.
INT. PLANET EXPRESS SHIP - BRIDGE
Daughtry remains seated on the couch, while Leela leans against the window glazing, TEARS FLOODING her eye. She then shows Daughtry the toy starship.
Daughtry's eyes WIDEN.
DAUGHTRY:
Where did you get this?
LEELA:
From the little boy.
Daughtry looks at her a moment, a surprised look on his face. He gets up and backs away.
DAUGHTRY:
You killed him.
Leela looks at him, confused.
DAUGHTRY:
(Cont.)
You killed my son!
LEELA:
How could he be...?
DAUGHTRY:
(Cont.)
That was his toy ship! YOU KILLED HIM!!
LEELA:
Oh my God, I'm so sorry!
DAUGHTRY:
Just get the hell away from me!
Daughtry exits the bridge.
Leela walks up to the pressure door and PUNCHES it HARD.
INT. INFIRMARY
Fry and Bender stare at the facehugger on Zapp's face.
FRY:
I wonder what its doing to him.
BENDER:
I'd hate to be a human to find out.
FRY:
Maybe its drinking his blood...
like a vampire!
BENDER:
Or maybe it just likes him. Hehehe.
It DETACHES from Zapp's face and FALLS to the floor.
FRY:
This can't be good.
BENDER:
Wait a second.
Bender touches the lifless alien.
BENDER:
Its dead.
FRY:
How can you tell?
BENDER:
Its not breathing.
FRY:
Oh.
Zapp slowly awakens.
INT. BRIDGE
Leela sits at the pilot seat, with a typical look of DEPRESSION.
The door slides open. Fry and Bender enter.
FRY:
Leela! Come quick! Its Zapp!
LEELA:
What about Zapp?
BENDER:
The thing died and he's awake!
Leela quickly gets out of her seat and exits with Fry and Bender.
INT. INFIRMARY
Zapp sits up in his bed, drinking a cup of coffee. Everyone surrounds him.
KIF:
How are you feeling, sir?
ZAPP:
Verry tired and verry hungry.
BENDER:
Did I hear the word hungry?
FRY / LEELA / KIF / DAUGHTRY:
NO!!
BENDER:
Bite my shiny metal ass, blood sacks!
INT. GALLEY - KITCHEN
Bender cooks a variety of his most dreaded dishes, including a pot of oil soup. Fry helps, and puts on an oven mitt.
BENDER:
Fry, the grease bread is done.
Fry opens the oven with the oven mitt, but pulls out the pan of grease bread with his bare hand.
FRY:
AHH!! OW!! HOT!! HOT!!
He drops the pan on the floor.
BENDER:
Aw! Nice going, lube fingers!
FRY:
Sorry.
Everyone else waits for their meals at the table.
BENDER:
(O.C.)
Almost done, guys.
LEELA:
Well, no need to rush.
Bender and Fry arrive, bearing platters of Bender's own creations.
ZAPP:
Ah, here we are.
BENDER:
And do at least try to enjoy it.
LEELA:
Okay, we'll try.
Bender crosses his arms.
Everyone except Bender try to ingest the meal without vomitting.
FRY:
Hmm, its... blhhh... not bad, Bender.
BENDER:
Really?
FRY:
Um... blhh... sure, why not?
Zapp begins CHOKING.
KIF:
Sir?
BENDER:
What the... Fry, be honest!
FRY:
Okay, its terrible.
BENDER:
NOOO!! My food is killing him!
Kif PATS Zapp on the back.
ZAPP:
I'm not choking! I'm... AHHH!!!!
Zapp CRASHES onto the table, facing the ceilling. Everyone gathers around him, trying to figure out what to do.
His SCREAM changes to a series of sick grunts.
LEELA:
Whats wrong with him?
DAUGHTRY:
Its starting! We've gotta kill him!
LEELA:
You're crazy, Daughtry. You know that?
BLOOD BURSTS from his chest. Everyone backs away.
FRY:
This is new.
Zapp TWITCHES as his ribbs begin CRACKING. A fist-sized HEAD emerges from his now lifeless body.
LEELA:
Oh God, what the hell?!
KIF:
This is a nightmare!
The eel-shaped alien LEAPS from Zapps body and SCURRIES out of the room, through an open vent.
Everyone stares at Zapp's bloody chest.
BENDER:
At least it wasn't the food.
EXT. SHIP
The ship DRIFTS peacefully through space, masking the fact that something horrifying has happened on board.
INT. CORRIDOR C.
Bender looks around the pipes and ribbed sections of the corridor, his eyes light up like flashlights.
BENDER:
Nothing here.
KIF:
(O.C.)
Corridor B is clean.
INT. CORRIDOR A.
Leela searches the corridor, a flashlight in one hand and a plasma pistol in the other.
LEELA:
Corridor A is safe... I think.
INT. LIVING QUARTERS
Daughtry lays in the hammock next to the TV, drinking an unlabeled bottle of liquor.
EXT. SHIP
A DROPSHIP APPROACHES from the rear of the ship, its DOCKING SLEEVE extended.
INT. BRIDGE
Fry looks around the bridge, with a baseball bat in hand.
FRY:
Where you at, acid breath?
He then notices a viewscreen reading "INCOMING VESSEL".
INT. CORRIDOR A.
Leela's OPSAT computer on her wrist displays the same message: "INCOMING VESSEL", followed by a light BEEPING SOUND.
EXT. SHIP - AIRLOCK ACCESS
The dropship's docking sleeve SLAMS onto the AIRLOCK DOOR.
INT. BRIDGE
A computer displays FLASHING TEXT reading "AIRLOCK BREACH".
INT. INTERRIOR AIRLOCK ACCESS
The airlock door BLASTS open. WEYLAND-YUTANI DEFENCE FORCE TROOPERS enter, fully armed.
INT. DROPSHIP COCKPIT
The PILOT lets the controls free.
PILOT:
USS Nightingale, this is Dropship
Two... we have successful hull
penetration. Troops moving in now.
RADIO:
(O.C.)
Roger, Dropship Two. We're
en route.
INT. AIRLOCK ACCESS
The Defence Force set up a perimiter guarding the airlock access.
TROOPER:
This is the Weyland-Yutani Defence
Force of the USS Nightingale. Give
us what we want and you will not be
harmed! Come out now!
After a moment...
LEELA:
(O.C.)
I have a better idea. How about
you get off my ship and I will
not harm you?
TROOPER:
Identify yourself!
LEELA:
(O.C.)
Captain Turanga Leela of the USS
Planet Express Ship.
TROOPER:
Captain Leela, I strongly suggest
you surrender now!
LEELA:
(O.C.)
This is your final warning, guys!
Get off my ship now!
TROOPER:
And this is your final warning!
LEELA:
(O.C.)
Fine have it your way.
TROOPER:
Where are you?
No response.
EXT. TURRET
Fry enters the turret, searching for the dropship. He spots it and FIRES the gun.
FRY:
Take this! Hahahaha!!
EXT. DROPSHIP
The dropship's hull is POUNDED with the incoming rounds.
INT. DROPSHIP COCKPIT
The pilot GRABS the controls.
PILOT:
AHH!! We're taking fire! Taking fire!
INT. AIRLOCK ACCESS
The troopers run back into the airlock.
EXT. DROPSHIP
The dropship TEARS apart from the impact and finally EXPLODES, RIPPING the docking sleeve away from the ship.
INT. AIRLOCK ACCESS
As the docking sleeve DISSOLVES away, the airlock is exposed to the vacuum of space, causing the troopers to be SUCKED out.
INT. TURRET
Fry watches the dropship explode and dissolve into the darkness.
FRY:
Whoa!
INT. CORRIDOR A.
Leela presses a button on her wrist computer.
INT. AIRLOCK ACCESS
A secondary airlock door SLAMS closed and SEALS TIGHT.
INT. CORRIDOR A.
Leela presses another button on her wrist computer.
LEELA:
Fry?
FRY:
Yeah, whats up?
LEELA:
Go find Daughtry.
CUT TO:
INT. BRIDGE
Leela GRABS Daughtry by the collar and SLAMS him against the pressure door.
LEELA:
Alright, no more secrets!
Tell me what they were doing on
my ship? Tell me!
DAUGHTRY:
I don't know!
LEELA:
Daughtry, you drunken S.O.B.,
I swear to God...!
DAUGHTRY:
I'm telling you I don't know!
Leela looks into his eyes for a moment, then lets go of him.
DAUGHTRY:
I might... I might have an idea,
though.
BENDER:
We're all ears, meatbag!
FRY:
Yeah!
DAUGHTRY:
I think I'm holding information.
Information they want.
LEELA:
What kind of information?
DAUGHTRY:
Information on the alien species,
as well as the crash sight.
LEELA:
You mean my ship and my crew was
put in danger because of something
you forgot to tell the Corporation?!
DAUGHTRY:
I was cut off!! Zapp was supposed
to give me a security patch through
the company interface, but it never
got here!
LEELA:
What is the information?
DAUGHTRY:
The alien's life-cycle and...
LEELA:
And what?
DAUGHTRY:
I found something else there.
A tripod with a cable attached
to it. On the side there were
printed words... the name of a
ship that was destroyed like
fifty years ago... the USCSS
Nostromo.
LEELA:
The Nostromo?
DAUGHTRY:
Somebody found the alien crash sight
long before we did.
Daughtry looks out the window glazing with a surprised look.
DAUGHTRY:
(Whispers)
Oh my God...
LEELA:
What?
DAUGHTRY:
I figured it out. They sent us
there as incubators!
LEELA:
Whose 'they'? The company?
DAUGHTRY:
Yes, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.
They sent us there, already aware
of its existence. They wanted us to
find the species and get infected.
Except I'm still alive, and...
LEELA:
And they don't want you exposing
the information your carrying to
the public.
DAUGHTRY:
Thats right. They're after me.
EXT. SPACE
The USS Nightingale DRIFTS by.
INT. NIGHTINGALE - BRIDGE
Anderson stares at a bright NEBULA through the window glazing.
Santiago RUSHES into the bridge.
SANTIAGO:
Sir! We have a problem!
ANDERSON:
Another problem? What is it this time?
SANTIAGO:
The dropship we sent to intercept the
Planet Express Ship... Its gone.
ANDERSON:
Gone? What do you mean gone?
SANTIAGO:
They destroyed it, sir.
Anderson walks up to the ship's PILOT.
ANDERSON:
Divert course to sector...
SANTIAGO:
One-fourty-eight, Sol Sector.
ANDERSON:
They reached the Solar Sector already?
SANTIAGO:
Yes, afraid so.
ANDERSON:
Okay, One-fourty-eight, Sol Sector.
PILOT:
Yes, sir. One-fourty-eight, Sol Sector.
Changing course.
INT. PLANET EXPRESS SHIP - BRIDGE
Leela lays on the couch, watching the beautifully colored NEBULA ahead of the ship. She then looks down and sits forward.
CUT TO:
INT. CARGO BAY
Leela leans on the pressure door, staring at the body of Zapp Brannigan wrapped in a white sheet. BLOOD from his open chest cavity STAINS the sheet.
CUT TO:
INT. AIRLOCK ACCESS
Zapp's body now lays in the airlock access module.
INT. BRIDGE
Leela sits at the pilot seat, staring at a computer video feed of the airlock access module. Everyone is gathered around her.
Fry's hand is on the "MAIN AIRLOCK OPEN/CLOSE" button.
FRY:
Any last words?
Leela shuts here eye, TIGHT.
BENDER:
Have a great trip, meatball.
KIF:
It was an honor serving you, sir.
Fry looks at Leela.
She nods to him.
FRY:
Adios, Mister Brannigan.
Fry presses the button.
EXT. OUTER AIRLOCK
The door SLIDES open. Zapp's body DARTS out of the airlock then SPINS endlessly into the darkness.
INT. BRIDGE
Fry gives Leela a hug.
Bender raises his beer bottle in the air, then takes a swig.
FADE TO:
INT. CORRIDOR A.
Daughtry walks down the corridor, randomly FLICKERING his flashlight.
Bender is in CORRIDOR B (next to A), within communicating distance.
BENDER:
(O.C.)
What are we gonna do if we find
this thing? We obviosly can't kill it.
DAUGHTRY:
Plasma guns might help. They might
cotorize bloodflow.
BENDER:
(O.C.)
Ah, so the acid don't eat through
the ship.
DAUGHTRY:
Exactly. Besides, I'd rather kill
it than capture it.
BENDER:
(O.C.)
Can't say I don't agree with you
there. But we don't have any plasma
guns.
DAUGHTRY:
Leela had one.
BENDER:
(O.C.)
Probably the only one on board. I
didn't even know she had one.
Daughtry hears a TAPPING SOUND in the ship's A.I. ACCESS ROOM ahead.
INT. A.I. ACCESS ROOM
Daughtry enters, waving his flashlight around the giant fourty-trillion terrabite memory processors and the command logic units.
FLOORPLANS of the ship appear on a viewscreen next to Daughtry. He presses a button, causing the schematics to FLASH by in slideshow format.
Something DARK moves around next to the core memory processor behind Daughtry.
Daughtry senses the presence and slowly turns around. He finds himself staring at a set razor-sharp TEETH grinning at him.
DAUGHTRY:
(Whispers)
Oh crap.
INT. CORRIDOR A.
Bender enters Corridor A.
BENDER:
Hey, where'd you go? Weren't you just...
A SCREAM is heard in the A.I. access room.
INT. A.I. ACCESS ROOM
Bender enters, looking around for Daughtry.
BENDER:
Daughtry? Was that you?
He spots his body being DRAGGED into an air vent above.
CUT TO:
INT. GALLEY
Everyone sits at the table.
LEELA:
What happened, Bender? Wheres Daughtry?
BENDER:
I don't know. I saw him being dragged
into the air shaft by something.
FRY:
By what? Was it that thing that
came out of Zapp's stomach?
BENDER:
No way. This thing was huge. I mean
like a... a mutated human... with
its bones on the outside and a long
bananna-shaped head. I think it had
a tail too.
KIF:
Maybe it grew.
LEELA:
That was pretty fast.
KIF:
Maybe this is another part of the
life cycle. It starts off from the egg,
then the face parasite. It needs a
living host to begin its next stage,
the newborn within the host. I'm
guessing it rapidly grows after this
stage, possibly to start another.
LEELA:
A multi-stage lifeform?
KIF:
Yes, I think so.
FRY:
You mean like Doctor Zoidberg?
KIF:
Yes, just like Doctor Zoidberg.
LEELA:
Speaking of Zoidberg, you think he
would want this parasite for tests?
Leela holds up the dead facehugger.
BENDER:
Knowing that giant lobster, he'd
probably eat it the minute he sees it.
EXT. NEW NEW YORK CITY - EARTH - DAY - TWENTY-NINE MINUTES LATER
The advanced metropolis of New New York City is filled with technological wonders:
clear pneumatic transportation tubes, 700-foot-high populuxe-style skyscrapers, and SWARMS of aerocars and starships.
EXT. PLANET EXPRESS BUILDING
The hangar bay doors slowly open.
The Planet Express Ship flies by, preparing to land inside.
HERMES:
(O.C.)
Welcome back, everyone. You are clear
to land.
INT. PLANET EXPRESS BUILDING - HANGAR BAY
Dr. FARNSWORTH, Dr. ZOIDBERG, AMY WONG, and Hermes stand in the meeting area and watch the incoming ship.
The hangar bay door is not yet fully open, yet the ship attepts to land anyway.
HERMES:
Oh, 'dis can't be good.
The ship CRASHES through the door and SLAMS to the ground.
FARNSWORTH:
Oh my.
ZOIDBERG:
Well, thats not coming out of my
paycheck. Oh wait a minute...
I don't have a paycheck!
Fry, Leela, Bender, and Kif emerge from the ship, SHAKEN from the rough landing.
FRY:
Oooooh, man. I feel sick.
BENDER:
Aw, shake it off.
FRY:
That was the third time this month.
LEELA:
In case you haven't noticed, I don't
have verry good depth-perception. Its
not my fault. Wait... I guess it is.
Nevermind.
Amy sees Kif and Runs up to him.
AMY:
Oh, Kif! I missed you so much!
KIF:
I missed you too, Amy.
Amy and Kif hug.
BENDER:
Geeze, get a room. I think I'm
gonna throw up hydraulic fluid.
FRY:
Me too.
HERMES:
(To Leela)
Dear God, woman! Do you have any
idea what its going to cost to
repair 'dat?!
ZOIDBERG:
Let me guess, this is coming out of
a certain someone's paycheck, which
that certain someone doesn't even
have, right?
HERMES:
If you are talking about yourself,
Zoidberg, relax. Your off da hook.
It is entirely Leela's fault 'dis time.
ZOIDBERG:
Hurray!! Oh, I mean... I feel bad
for you, Leela.
LEELA:
Hermes, we don't have time for this.
Theres some kind of alien lifeform on
the ship.
FARNSWORTH:
An alien? So what? You and Zoidberg
are aliens and I'm not complaining.
LEELA:
First of all, I'm not an alien, I'm
a mutant. Second, its hostile and
killed one of our clients!
BENDER:
And the cargo.
HERMES:
Wait, da cargo? Da cargo was alive?
LEELA:
Its a long story. Do you have any
weapons we could borrow?
FARNSWORTH:
Don't you have a plasma pistol?
LEELA:
It ran out of plasma.
FARNSWORTH:
Oh, what rotten luck. I'm afraid I
don't have any more plasma to give you.
AMY:
What about pulse rifles?
LEELA:
No, it has to be something that burns
like fire.
Farnsworth opens a cabinet and pulls out a FLAMETHROWER.
FARNSWORTH:
Will this work?
LEELA:
It's perfect.
Leela takes the flamethrower.
BENDER:
(To Farnsworth)
Oh, hey. I got something for you too.
Bender opens his compartment and pulls out the dead facehugger and DROPS it on the ground.
Farnsworth gets a closer look.
FARNSWORTH:
Oh my... a xenomorph!
FRY:
A xeno-wha...?
FARNSWORTH:
This is the second stage of a
hostile organism called a xenomorph.
FRY:
Where does it come from?
FARNSWORTH:
Nobody knows. Verry few people
even know of its existance.
LEELA:
Does anyone know of its gruesom
life-cycle?
FARNSWORTH:
Gruesom? What part of of its life-
cycle is gruesom besides its appetite?
ZOIDBERG:
Please don't say the word 'appetite'.
LEELA:
Oh, the fact that it needs a live host
for the newborn that later... bursts out
of the host's body and rapidly grows
into a giant killing machine.
FARNSWORTH:
Oh my goodness. I only assumed it just
grew from this stage. I never suspected
that it lives inside someone!
AMY:
You mean that thing could be inside
us right now and we don't even know it?
KIF:
Oh no. You must first be victim of the
face parasite.
AMY:
Oh.
FARNSWORTH:
I have much to learn from this species.
Thank you for giving it to me. I can
now run some tests on it.
Farnsworth looks at the ground again, but the facehugger is missing.
FARNSWORTH:
Uh... where did it go?
Hermes looks at Zoidberg.
ZOIDBERG:
What?
The facehugger's tail HANGS out of Zoidberg's mouth. He SLURPS it in.
BENDER:
(To Leela)
I told you.
HERMES:
Zoidberg, you giant crustacean!
ZOIDBERG:
I was hungry, I was.
HERMES:
You're always hungry! Come here!
ZOIDBERG:
Ah!! Leave me alone!
Zoidberg SPLASHES ink on Hermes and runs away.
ZOIDBERG:
WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!!
Hermes chases him.
HERMES:
Get back here, you oversized lobsta'!
Leela walks back to the ship.
LEELA:
I'm gonna take the ship back into space.
I wanna make sure that this thing doesn't
escape when I try to kill it.
FRY:
Let me come with you.
LEELA:
No, Fry. I gotta do this alone.
FRY:
But Leela...!
LEELA:
Fry, I'll be fine. I promise.
FARNSWORTH:
And be careful with my ship!
Leela enters the ship and takes off.
FRY:
I'll be waiting for you.
The ground suddenly SHAKES VIOLENTLY, causing everyone to loose their balance.
SCRUFFY, the janitor, STOMPS by in a giant Caterpillar 'Power Loader'.
FARNSWORTH:
Who are you, and what are you doing
with my Power Loader?!
Scruffy HAULTS.
SCRUFFY:
The name's Scruffy... the janitor.
FARNSWORTH:
Oh, yes, thats right. But what are
you doing with my...
SCRUFFY:
You told me to use it to pick up
those big crates over there and
move 'em closer to the labs.
Scruffy uses the hydraulic arm of the Power Loader to point at the crates.
FARNSWORTH:
Oh... I did?
Scruffy nods.
FARNSWORTH:
Then get to it!
EXT. SPACE
The Planet Express Ship GLIDES by.
INT. PLANET EXPRESS SHIP - BRIDGE
Leela lets go of the controls and picks up her flamethrower.
LEELA:
Time to barbecue some xenomorph.
As she is about to exit the bridge, she notices a STARSHIP getting closer. Its the Nightingale.
INT. NIGHTINGALE - BRIDGE
Anderson and Santiago watch their ship slowly pass next to the Planet Express Ship.
ANDERSON:
Thats good, take it slow.
Nice and easy.
INT. PLANET EXPRESS SHIP - BRIDGE
Leela continues watching the Nightingale.
LEELA:
Not again.
EXT. NIGHTINGALE
A large docking sleeve emerges from the ship and connects to the Planet Express Ship's outer airlock door.
INT. PLANET EXPRESS SHIP - BRIDGE
Two Weyland-Yutani Defence Force TROOPERS enter.
TROOPER #1:
Drop your weapon! Do it now!
Leela drops the flamethrower.
As TROOPER #1 bends down to pick up the flamethrower, Leela KICKS him in the face and GRABS his pulse rifle.
TROOPER #2 COCKS his pulse rifle.
Leela shoots TROOPER #2 with TROOPER #1's pulse rifle, then SLINGS it to her shoulder.
INT. NIGHTINGALE - AIRLOCK ACCESS
A Weyland-Yutani WORKER and a GUARD stand by the airlock door.
WORKER:
Did you hear something?
GUARD:
No, but...
The guard checks his OPSAT computer on his wrist.
GUARD:
(Cont.)
... I lost the signal.
INT. DOCKING SLEEVE
Leela loads a GRENADE into the pulse rifle and aims it at the Nightingale's airlock door in front of her.
INT. NIGHTINGALE - AIRLOCK ACCESS
The door BLASTS open, sending the worker and guard FLYING down the nearby corridor.
Leela enters.
LEELA:
Knock, knock.
INT. NIGHTINGALE - BRIDGE
A viewscreen next to Anderson and Santiago FLASHES a message:
"AIRLOCK BREACH".
ANDERSON:
(To Santiago)
Handle it.
SANTIAGO:
Yes, sir.
Santiago exits.
INT. NIGHTINGALE - ENGINE ROOM
Two ENGINEERS carefully inspect the giant engines of the ship.
A distant EXPLOSION is heard, followed by a moderate TREMBLE in the machinery.
ENGINEER #1:
(British accent)
Oi, what the bloody hell was that?
ENGINEER #2:
Forget about it, we got work to...
OH MY GOD!! AHHHH!!!
ENGINEER #1 turns to ENGINEER #2, who is now being DRAGGED into a ventillation shaft above.
ENGINEER #1:
What's going on?! What the flaming f...
BLOOD SPLASHES onto the engineer's face. He quickly WIPES it off and looks back up.
The ALIEN watches him from the shaft, an evil GRIN on its face.
The engineer's eyes WIDEN in horror. He then SPRINTS out of the room.
The alien DROPS from the shaft and follows him.
INT. CORRIDOR 1 (NIGHTINGALE)
The engineer runs frantically down the corridor, the alien not too far behind.
ENGINEER:
Get away from me! GET AWAY!!
He spots a seperation point in the corridor ahead, with a control panel on the side.
Once there, the engineer PUNCHES a button on the control panel.
A pressure door LOWERS and seals tight.
The alien on the other side SLAMS on the door, then STARES at the engineer through a small vision slot.
The engineer backs away, then TRIPS over a ridge in the floor. He falls to the floor, barely bracing himself with a pipe on the wall. He looks back at the pressure door.
ENGINEER:
HAHA!! WANKER! I GOT YOU NOW!!
The sound of a gun being COCKED startles him. He slowly turns around.
Leela is aiming her Pulse Rifle at him.
ENGINEER:
Wonderful, if a killer monster isn't
enough, throw me a cyclops woman with
a pulse rifle aimed at my head.
LEELA:
Wanna stay alive, come with me.
ENGINEER:
But I got the bloody thing trapped!
LEELA:
Like a pressure door is gonna stop it.
Just trust me, okay? Follow me.
ENGINEER:
Eh... yeah, okay. Sure... yeah.
Leela helps him up, then leads him down the corridor.
INT. CORRIDOR 3 (NIGHTINGALE)
Santiago runs down the corridor, a PLASMA PISTOL in hand.
Halfway down the corridor, he puts on a headset.
SANTIAGO:
Captain Anderson?
ANDERSON:
(O.C.)
I read you, Santiago.
Santiago enters CORRIDOR 2 via pressure door.
INT. BRIDGE (NIGHTINGALE)
Anderson walks up to the pilot.
ANDERSON:
(To the pilot)
Whats the count?
PILOT:
I lost three more of our personnel
signatures already. I also count
two foreign signatures on board.
ANDERSON:
Two? I thought Turanga Leela was
the only one who breached the airlock.
PILOT:
The second signature is a ghost. I
can't even try and track it. It
just appears one moment, then vanishes.
Also these God damned decade-old
tracking computers don't have a fast
enough refresh rate.
ANDERSON:
Well, the point is that we have two
intruders. How many men do we have?
PILOT:
You, me, Santiago, and one of the
engineers are all thats left.
And it looks like the engineer is
with Miss Leela.
Anderson puts on a headset.
INT. CORRIDOR 2 (NIGHTINGALE)
Santiago walks by, fully alert with his weapon.
ANDERSON:
(O.C.)
Santiago, she has one of our's with
her, so check your fire.
SANTIAGO:
Who is it?
ANDERSON:
(O.C.)
One of the engineers.
SANTIAGO:
Got it... Out.
INT. CORRIDOR 1 JUNCTION POINT (ACCESS TO CORRIDOR 2)
Leela leads the engineer down the corridor, carefully watching every corner.
ENGINEER:
So... who are you? That is, if you
don't mind me asking.
LEELA:
Just another victim of being at the
right place at the wrong time.
ENGINEER:
Ah, okay... but what are you doing
on the Nightingale? And that thing...
LEELA:
Lets focus on surviving, okay?
ENGINEER:
No more questions... right. Okay.
So, can I have a gun?
A PLASMA BEAM SHOOTS over their heads and hits the wall.
They DIVE to cover behind some machinery.
Santiago emerges from the access node towards CORRIDOR 2, aiming his gun in the direction of Leela and the engineer.
SANTIAGO:
Alright, come on out!
Leela checks the ammo count on her Pulse Rifle. It reads "32".
SANTIAGO:
(Cont.)
The way I see it, we got two
choices. One, you could surrender
and give us our man Daughtry. Two,
we could all just start shooting at
each other and risk penetrating the
ship's hull. How's that? A little
explosive decompression!
INT. BRIDGE
Anderson and the pilot watch the ghost signature appear behind Santiago's signature on a viewscreen.
ANDERSON:
(Into headset)
Santiago, get out of there. You got
a ghost signature behind you.
INT. CORRIDOR 1 JUNCTION POINT
Santiago adjusts his headset.
SANTIAGO:
No, no. I got them cornered, sir.
ANDERSON:
(O.C.)
No, behind you! There's a second
intruder on board! Get outta there!!
SANTIAGO:
Where is it?
ANDERSON:
(O.C.)
Damn it, get outta there now!!
Something silhouetted MOVES behind Santiago.
Santiago swallows hard and turns around.
INT. BRIDGE
A loud SCREAM is heard over the headset. Anderson RIPS the headset off and THROWS it to the ground.
ANDERSON:
(To the pilot)
If my signature dissapears, jump in the
escape shuttle and get out of here.
Anderson opens a cabinet and pulls out a custom-made flamethrower, a plasma pistol, and a cattle prod.
PILOT:
Yes, sir... but where are you...?
ANDERSON:
I got something to take care of.
Anderson exits.
INT. CORRIDOR 2
Leela and the engineer run down the corridor, closing the pressure doors at all three seperation points.
ENGINEER:
Hey, there's another access route
down Corridor Four. I better seal it
off 'cause it leads towards the
junction ahead.
LEELA:
Alright, just hurry back.
The engineer pulls out Santiago's plasma pistol.
ENGINEER:
No worries, love. I got a bigger
problem at hand, and I need your
help.
LEELA:
I trust you. Now go.
The engineer exits.
LEELA:
You should worry about trusting
me, though.
INT. CORRIDOR 1
Anderson walks by, searching for the intruders.
INT. CORRIDOR 4
The engineer checks the plasma in his gun, then spots the alien twenty feet down the corridor.
ENGINEER:
Christ... you are one ugly mother...
The alien spots the engineer and runs towards him.
The engineer SMILES and presses a button on the wall next to him.
A pressure door lowers, but only closes half-way.
His smile FADES as he PUNCHES the button several more times.
ENGINEER:
No, no, no... my door ain't working!
The door lowers a few more inches.
The alien is even closer now.
ENGINEER:
Come on!!
The door edges free and SEALS TIGHT.
The engineer SIGHS in relief, then looks through a small vision slot on the door.
No alien in sight.
ENGINEER:
CORRIDOR FOUR... SAFE!!... I hope.
INT. CORRIDOR 2
The engineer's shout is barely heard.
ENGINEER:
(O.C., distant echo)
CORRIDOR FOUR... SAFE!!
INT. CORRIDOR 1
Anderson also hears the engineer.
ANDERSON:
Not for long, you jackass Brit.
INT. CORRIDOR 2
Leela looks around and finds a corridor leading to the BRIDGE. She takes the route.
INT. BRIDGE
The pilot remains seated. Instead of watching the personnel signatures like he should be, he is loading bullets into the clip of his Steyr AUG assault rifle.
He hears the HISS of the pressure door behind him.
PILOT:
Welcome back, sir. I knew you were
gonna...
Leela appears behind him and SMASHES his head with the Pulse Rifle. His unconscious body FALLS to the floor.
Leela then observes the personnel signatures on the viewscreen.
LEELA:
Anderson... don't you move.
She TAPS the signature on the viewscreen and exits the bridge.
INT. CORRIDOR 2
The engineer walks by, confused.
ENGINEER:
Hello? Hey, cyclops lady! Where'd
you go?
INT. CORRIDOR 1
Anderson is uneasy, finally forcing himself down the nearby corridor.
INT. CORRIDOR 3
Leela runs by, obviously on her way towards Anderson's location.
INT. CORRIDOR 2
The engineer CREEPS towards the junction point, his hands TREMBLING.
Suddenly, Anderson POPS out of the access node.
The engineer is startled an fires his gun at him.
Anderson DIVES behind a rib in the corridor, then shoots back.
The engineer is hit, a burnt wound on his chest.
ENGINEER:
(Shoort of breath)
Oh... bugger...
He falls to the floor, dead.
Anderson emerges from cover and identifies his kill.
ANDERSON:
Damn, damn, damn, damn!!
INT. CORRIDOR 1
Leela enters CORRIDOR 1, searching for Anderson. He is not in sight.
LEELA:
Now, you've got to be kidding.
INT. BRIDGE
Anderson enters, an ANGRY look in his eyes as he stares at the body of the pilot on the floor, and that his signature is the only friendly one left on the viewscreen. He THROWS his weapons on the floor, and walks up to the "SELF-DISTRUCT" control board. He UNLOCKS it with a KEY on his neck.
ANDERSON:
Okay, lets see how you react to this,
you one-eyed bitch!
Once open, he PUNCHES the touchboard. The self-distruct is active.
SHIP:
(Echo)
Attention! The emergency self-distruct
is now activated!
INT. CORRIDOR 1
Leela hears the ship's message loud and clear.
SHIP:
(Echo)
Attention! The emergency self-distruct
is now activated! You have fifteen minutes
to evacuate the ship!
LEELA:
Aw, crap!
Leela SPRINTS towards CORRIDOR 4.
INT. BRIDGE
Anderson presses buttons and flips switches on a control panel next to an airlock, reading "LIFEBOAT".
INT. CORRIDOR 4
Leela runs down the corridor, then PEERS down the juction to Corridor 3.
The alien emerges from the piping on the walls.
Leela JUMPS back into CORRIDOR 4. She must find another way to the Planet Express ship.
After a moment of calming her tension, she checks the ammo count on her Pulse Rifle again. "32". Then it BLINKS.
She TAPS the counter. It now reads "RELOAD".
LEELA:
Damn!
She throws it to the ground and runs towards the CONPANIONWAY CORRIDOR.
INT. CONPANIONWAY CORRIDOR
Leela quickly runs down the corridor, her flamethrower lit.
She enters...
INT. CORRIDOR 2
Then...
INT. AIRLOCK ACCESS
Before entering the demolished airlock, Leela looks around, firing random FIREBALLS with her flamethrower.
SHIP:
(Echo)
Attention! You now have ten minutes
to evacuate the ship!
Leela enters the airlock and docking sleeve to the Planet Express Ship.
INT. BRIDGE
The LIFEBOAT AIRLOCK opens and Anderson steps inside.
INT. INTERRIOR AIRLOCK ACCESS (PLANET EXPRESS SHIP)
As Leela enters, she closes and locks the airlock door manually, then heads towards the bridge.
INT. EMERGENCY SHUTTLE (NIGHTINGALE LIFEBOAT)
Anderson SEALS the airlock door and LEAPS to his seat. There he presses buttons and flips switches.
ANDERSON:
Come on, come on...
EXT. NIGHTINGALE - HULL - UNDERSIDE
A panel SLIDES open, exposing the emergency shuttle.
INT. BRIDGE (PLANET EXPRESS SHIP)
Leela STUMBLES into the bridge, exhausted, and DROPS her flamethrower on the floor as she CRAWLS into the pilot seat.
The Nightingale computer's voice is heard within the Planet Express Ship.
SHIP:
(Echo)
Attention! You now have five minutes
to evacuate the ship!
INT. EMERGENCY SHUTTLE
Anderson STRUGGLES with the controls.
ANDERSON:
Wake up, damn it!
A viewscreen flashes TEXT reading "AIRLOCK SEPARATION MALFUNCTION".
Anderson leaves his seat and picks up his cattle prod. He uses it to SMASH open a small compartment. He DROPS the cattle prod, reaches inside the compartment, and pulls out a bulk of WIRES.
INT. BRIDGE (PLANET EXPRESS SHIP)
Leela notices she has a problem as well.
A viewscreen next to the controls reads "CARBONATED LOGIC MATRIX CORRUPTED - REPLACE UNITS TWO AND SIX".
Leela GROWLS in frustration, picks up her flamethrower, then exits the bridge.
INT. EMERGENCY SHUTTLE
Anderson BITES at the wires, TEARING them in halves. He then examines them, connecting various unmatched wires together.
SPARKS FLY.
INT. A.I. ACCESS ROOM (PLANET EXPRESS SHIP)
Leela enters, passing the fourty-trillion terrabite memory processors and the command logic units.
She drops the flamethrower.
FLOORPLANS of the ship continue to FLASH on the viewscreen in slideshow format.
Leela spots the corrupted carbonation units projecting from the port above her. She reaches one, removes it, and DROPS it on the floor. She then opens a compartment next to her and pulls out a fresh unit, plugging it into the port.
As she is about to remove the second one, she notices a slimy, snake-like growth on one of the command logic units. She follows it with her eye, just as...
VOICE:
(O.C., shakey and unclear)
Le...e...l...a...
Leela is STARTLED at what she finds and backs into the wall behind her.
DAUGHTRY is HANGING from a command loginc unit, COCOONED in the slimy material.
DAUGHTRY:
Pl...e...ase... k... kill me...
Leela notices that Daughtry is slowly MUTATING into an ALIEN EGG.
LEELA:
Oh my God, Daughtry...
DAUGHTRY:
K... kill me...
TEARS form in Leela's eye as she picks up her flamethrower.
Daughtry manages a sluggish nod. With his final breath, he yells;
DAUGHTRY:
I'm... going... to see my son again!
Even more tears form in Leela's eye, as she SQUEEZES the trigger.
Both the cocooned Daughtry and the entire command logic unit are SCORCHED in the firey blaze.
Leela THROWS her flamethrower across the room.
INT. EMERGENCY SHUTTLE
Anderson SLAMS the compartment shut.
ANDERSON:
That should do it.
It didn't help. The viewscreen still reads "AIRLOCK SEPARATION MALFUNCTION".
ANDERSON:
You decade-old piece of crap!
Anderson PUNCHES the compartment.
INT. BRIDGE (PLANET EXPRESS SHIP)
Leela LEAPS to her seat and YANKS on the controls.
SHIP:
(Echo)
Fifteen... fourteen... thirteen... twelve...
EXT. PLANET EXPRESS SHIP - NOSECONE
Two forward thruster engines project from the nosecone and BLAST to life.
SHIP:
(Echo)
... eleven...
EXT. DOCKING SLEEVE
The docking sleeve BREAKS apart as the ship forcefully separates from the Nightingale.
SHIP:
(Echo)
... ten... nine...
INT. BRIDGE
Leela lets go of the controls and watches the Nightingale DRIFT away.
SHIP:
(Echo)
... eight... seven... six... five...
INT. EMERGENCY SHUTTLE
Anderson gives up and stares out the window.
SHIP:
(Echo)
... four... three... two...
ANDERSON:
Its just not fair.
INT. BRIDGE (PLANET EXPRESS SHIP)
Leela watches the Nightingale SHRINK in the distance.
SHIP:
(Echo)
... one.
An enormous clustery EXPLOSION ERUPTS from the Nightingale. Barely a sound is heard.
A SMILE forms on Leela's face.
LEELA:
(Whispers)
I got you.
She shuts her eye and reclines in her seat.
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. EARTH
The Planet Express Ship GLIDES by and enters the atmosphere.
CUT TO:
INT. PLANET EXPRESS BUILDING - CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY
Everyone is gathered around the conference table. Farnsworth is taking a nap. Bender uses this oppertunity to steal Farnsworth's wallet without anyone noticing.
Fry stares at the table, TAPPING his fingers.
AMY:
I'm sure she's okay, Fry.
FRY:
It's been like an hour already.
I hope you're right, Amy.
The sound of WHALE OIL ENGINES ERUPTS from the sky, catching the attention of everyone... except Farnsworth.
INT. HANGAR BAY
The Planet Express Ship lands SOFTLY in the hangar bay.
Leela exits, cut-up, bruised, burnt, exhausted.
Fry RUNS to her.
FRY:
Leela! You're okay!
LEELA:
I'm... not okay. I'm alive, but no...
I am absolutely not okay.
FRY:
Oh my God, Leela. I missed you so
much... I thought something might
have happened to you.
Fry and Leela hug.
BENDER:
(Sniffles)
This is the happiest moment...
Amy backhands Bender's compartment.
BENDER:
Ow!! What was that for?
AMY:
How come you weren't like this when
me and Kif hugged?
BENDER:
Gimmie a sec to think of an excuse.
Suddenly, Bender's compartment BURSTS OPEN, an alien TAIL PUNCHING through.
BENDER:
AHHHH!!! WHAT THE HELL'S HAPPENING?!!
The alien emerges from the landing strut of the ship and RIPS Bender in half.
BENDER:
AYAHHHAYAHH!!!! That hurt.
Leela exits the room, without anyone noticing.
FRY:
What are we gonna do?!! Leela...!
Fry looks around for Leela.
FRY:
(Cont.)
Leela, where'd you go?!
The alien walks closer, its retractable jaw projecting from its mouth.
The ground begins SHAKING as Leela enters the room with the POWER LOADER.
LEELA:
Get away from them, you son of a BITCH!!
The alien HISSES at Leela and makes its way towards her.
Leela raises the hydraulic arm and PUNCHES the alien's head.
It lets out a horrifying SHREAK and CHARGES at her.
Leela executes the same defense, but the alien DODGES it and WHIPS its tail at her.
She then tries TRAPPING the alien in the clamps on both arms, but it dodges this move as well and SNAPS its retractable jaw at her.
Finally, she flips on the WELDER on the left arm and aims it at the alien, burning its face.
The alien WHIPS its tail at her again, this time penetrating the FLUID CONTAINER. Red hydraulic fluid SPILLS from the container, causing the Power Loader to CRIPPLE to the ground.
The alien backs away from the Power Loader, then charges at it for a final time. At this verry moment, Leela notices that the INCINERATOR on the wall is active.
Leela RIPS the safety restraints off of her, then KICKS the alien away.
It SMASHES on to the wall next to the incinerator.
Leela CHARGES at the alien.
The alien RISES.
Leela GRABS the alien and WRESTLES it into the incinerator.
Once its inside, she closes the heat shield and increases the temperature.
The alien DISSOLVES within its fiery tomb.
Leela watches proudly and COLLAPSES to the floor.
Fry runs up to her.
FRY:
Leela, you okay?
LEELA:
Oh, I'm... just great... I guess.
Leela and Fry then notice SPARKS flying from the Power Loader.
Fry:
Hey, is that hydraulic fluid flammable?
Leela looks at Fry.
LEELA:
More like... COMBUSTIBLE!!
Leela GRABS Fry and SHIELDS him on the floor.
Everyone else takes cover.
A final SPARK SPITS from the Power Loader, igniting the spilled hydraulic fluid.
The entire hangar bay and conference room EXPLODES and transforms into a giant pile of RUBBLE. The Planet Express ship is also demolished.
Scruffy enters.
SCRUFFY:
Not a chance in hell am I gonna
clean that up.
Everyone emerges from the rubble.
Amy spots the demolished conference table and LIFTS pieces of it off the ground.
Farnsworth is seen through the debris.
AMY:
Professor, are you alright?
FARNSWORTH:
Ah, wha...? Oh... Good news, everyone!
I'm still alive!
Zoidberg POKES his claw through the rubble.
ZOIDBERG:
Hurray!!
Fry and Leela stare at the sky for a moment, then at each other.
They passionately KISS.
Bender emerges from the Planet Express Ship wreckage.
BENDER:
Hey! Anyone gonna put me back together?
He notices Fry and Leela.
BENDER:
(Rolls eyes)
Oh, an emotional moment.
After a long moment, everyone takes a glance at the sky.
LEELA:
You think anyone is gonna find that
crash site on LV-426 after us?
FRY:
Not a chance. Even we couldn't find it,
and yet we landed there anyway.
LEELA:
That makes vague sense.
EASE OUT from the Planet Express Building, then PAN through the Solar System, then various outsider systems, and finally...
EXT. ACHERON LV-426 - SPACE
LV-426 orbits Livinum soundlessly, mysteriously, with its crescent SHADOW over its surface.
A CONESTOGA-CLASS STARSHIP approaches LV-426.
BOLD LETTERING on the side reads "USS SULACO".
