That was awesome beyond words!   Someone posted this on Reddit, too!

The actors in that played the characters very well.  Thanks for sharing!

They did a nice job handling Leela's eye, which always presents a problem:

The opening scene with Leela zipping up her boots while Fry is zipping up his fly doesn't leave much to the imagination  ;).

Although the video was entertaining, it quickly became evident just how closely the original voice actors are tied to my enjoyment of the show as a whole.

There is a link to the "official" website of the fan movie : http://fan-o-rama.com/home/ (http://fan-o-rama.com/home/)
Maybe this will encourage a new start for Futurama?

That was really well done, but I'm not sure it will go any further. Copyright and lawyers, y'know.

But if it might encourage an official live-action version of Futurama, with the real voice actors lending their talent to the live-action actors... well, now... all for that!

I've seen the trailer, looks pretty interesting, it's just Leela's eye gives me the collywobbles. I don't know why. Other than that...  :)

It's the Bender that gets me. And, obviously, the voices being so different.

Agreed.  They did such a great job on everything else, and to have Bender look like a cheap animation, pasted on top of the screen.  I suppose with how much that would cost...
The voices don't bother me too much- I understand these are not the voice actors we are accustomed to (and possibly not even real actors).  Over all, this is very well done.

It's hard to create in "real" 3-D some characters always in 2-D...
Look at the art from a lot of artists on the web and no one of them is perfect as well for Futurama or the Simpsons. I still have problems with Leela's eye because it is always too small (usually it uses a large place in her forehead).
Due to the look of all characters (ears, mouths,...) it will be always hard to represent them with real people. But if I quote the 3-D cinematics from the PS2 game (only designed by computer a long time ago), the rendering is rather successful. Maybe an entire fan film without real persons will be more realistic.
I think Bender could be more detailed, it looks like a pile of geometrical blocks.

It is a very great work despite of this.  :) :)

Agreed.  I have the game for the Xbox.  It works. I think it works because everything is done in the same style.
This is still awesome.  ESPECIALLY for fan work.  Like most of us could do better. :giggle:

At the time I thought everybody has forgot it, this movie (approx. 32 min) has been finally released today on YouTube!

There is the link to this video :

I can't watch it now, because it's time to go to work...  :(

It was awfully cute, and I hope that they find funding for future projects along these lines.

The end credits are now scrolling on my TV.
It is a funny movie, with the major characters of Futurama. I'm a little disappointed because of the story which has no end, but it is very very well done for a fan movie. Look at the credits and the impressive crew behind it! I think it's better to keep the universe in 2-D, for example it is strange to see Leela's eye on a "real" person. Its proportions aren't the same as the original Leela's one and I was a little disturbed.
I can only encourage all of the movie crew to do such amazing work.

Please continue to watch after the end credits!

That was pretty amazing.  They've clearly spent some significant time and money on that, let's hope we'll see a complete episode out of it some day soon.  I too found the characters a little different, especially the voices, and that's the hardest thing to get used to.  Still, it's a pretty awesome effort and I'd love to see more.

OKay!  I finally saw the video!   It was magnificent to see Futurama in Live Action!   All the actors played their roles very superbly.  Everything was in character!   But I expected it to be an episode that lasts the whole thirty minutes.    Really hope there's a part two!  It was cool to see Futurama come back in some form.  Even if it was a fan made video!   Why did it take place in 3004?  Why not 3016?

Was hoping maybe Zapp and Kiff would stop Fry, Bender, and Leela to help them on a mission where they had to kill some aliens, then the aliens Zapp and Kiff were sent to kill turn out to be the ones from the beer commercial.  Then Zapp is convinced they aren't evil, and the aliens make Fry, Leela, Bender, Zapp, and Kiff all go through some obstacles then whoever's beer commercial jingle will be used if one of them wins.   Hermes, Amy, and Zoidberg could watch the whole thing on TV.

The only thing I didn't like was when they all ganged up on Leela about her fling with Zapp.  And she tries to convince them, and they didn't want to believe.    Even Fry joined in, I understand Bender teasing her about it, but Fry.  Come on.   Thought Fry loved Leela.   I mean, Leela never gives Fry grief about his flings with Morgan Proctor or Colleen.

All in all it was a very awesome fan made video!   It's proof that Futurama still lives on after it's departure.   We have the Futurama app games, the comics, etc!    Let there be a part two someday!   Perfect Christmas present for us fans!

10/10

For those of you who have been out of the loop, a very well-done live-action fanmade episode of Futurama has been made, called Fan-O-Rama (https://youtu.be/f-1RMKdWz8M). Check it out! It's so great! I'm amazed with everything; the story, the costumes and even practical effects! And a very big cameo!

It was a cool fan video!  Think there is already a thread for this though.

ah, rookie mistake.  I am so getting fired for this!

edit: okay, topic merged! Don't tell my boss  :uhoh:

anyways. I really love how it was all done with practical effects and makeup! At least, most of it! The level of professionalism was astounding!
